For people avoiding gluten, eating at restaurants can take some detective work. There’s the online snooping, the magnifying glass-level of menu reading, and even the occasional interrogation: What else goes in that fryer?!
That’s because for people with gluten-intolerance or celiac disease, it’s a big deal. Gluten, a protein found in wheat, can cause a major negative reaction with short-term discomfort and long-term health consequences.
